Arnold Is Back With Netflix’s FUBAR To Bang On!

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new action-comedy series ‘FUBAR’ coming to Netflix in May

Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the small screen for the first time in his career with the upcoming action-comedy series ‘FUBAR’, which will premiere on Netflix on May 25. Created by Nick Santora, the show is described as a CIA spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action, and will follow the story of a father and daughter who discover that their entire relationship is built on a lie, and that they are each CIA operatives. The eight-episode series will depict family dynamics with humor, action and spies.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former California governor, bodybuilder, and all-around action icon, will play a lead role in the show, which also stars Monica Barbaro, Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, Gabriel Luna, Andy Buckley, Aparna Brielle, Barbara Eve Harris, and Fabiana Udenio. Schwarzenegger is also an executive producer for the series, alongside Santora.

The show’s title, FUBAR, is an acronym for “fucked up beyond all repair,” though in the show it could mean something different, such as “Fun Ultimate Badass Arnold Ruckus.” The show’s announcement teaser shows Arnold doing very Arnold things like lighting a cigar, firing a gun, and driving a car very fast, while also showcasing the show’s humor with a slap to the groin.

Schwarzenegger said in a press release that wherever he goes, people ask him when he’s going to do another big action comedy like True Lies, and that he’s excited to be bringing that to audiences with FUBAR. He promised the show would “kick your ass and make you laugh, and not just for two hours. You get a whole season.” Unfortunately, he hasn’t yet revealed how many episodes the season will have.

FUBAR marks Schwarzenegger’s return to scripted television and his first TV series, and he expressed his enthusiasm for the project in the press release. The show’s creator, Santora, said he was inspired by how Schwarzenegger could be funny while still kicking ass and wanted to create a hysterical, CIA-spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action. The series was created with Skydance Television.
